The company also sells and leases content management system and related hardware; designs digital signage content and field curation solutions; and designs, manufactures, and sells TFT-LCD modules, backlight modules, and TV sets and related parts. In addition, it engages in the development, manufacturing, and sale of medical equipment; services related to site rental and educational activities; research and development, and IP related business; solar and renewable energy power generation; research and development, project management, purchasing, manufacturing, supply chain management, sales, administration, support services of HMI and automotive climate control systems; and planning and design of water treatment technology and EPC project, energy saving equipment and energy efficiency project, facility intelligent management and environmental sustainability solution, management consulting, and software services relating to carbon emission. Further, the company designs, develops, and sells software and hardware for health care industry; management platform and solutions relating to dental digital information; provides software and hardware integration system and equipment relating to intelligent manufacturing, as well as software development and related consulting services; after-sales services for TFT-LCD panels; and investment services. The company was formerly known as AU Optronics Corp. and changed its name to AUO Corporation in June 2022. AUO Corporation was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Hsinchu City, Taiwan.
